Following on from our recent post ‘surveying-for-preservation’, we are progressing nicely with our 3D model of this important piece of history from Oriel College Oxford.
We have now captured all the required photos of the frieze from every conceivable angle and recorded the additional information necessary for reference, scale and correct exposure.
Processing is still ongoing for generation of the final printable mesh, but we have calibrated (white balanced) the images and, using reconstruction software, aligned the shapes in the images to create a high-resolution mesh which can be seen in the attached video.
Our next step will be to transfer the colour contained in the photos to the surface of the mesh for which we will soon be posting updates….
